Sunday 11th August provides a day of eclectic jazz, jointly
curated by Wales Jazz Societies.
Brecon Jazz Festival extends the Guildall programme
with Jazz Societies and Clubs from across Wales coming together to produce
a high quality programme of music throughout the Sunday of the festival.
A venue 'stroller ticket' has been re-introduced
giving entry to all four performances on Sunday 11th August at a preferential
one off ticket price.

‘SHADES OF SHEARING’ - TICKETS HERE
Paul Sawtell, Vibes / Trefor Owen and Andy Hulme, Guitars / Bill
Coleman, Double Bass. The close harmony sounds of the legendary George Shearing
Quintet provide the inspiration for this dazzling lineup of musicians, led
by Wales foremost guitarist.

Davide Logiri, Piano / Ben Thomas, Horns / Andrew Fawcett, Tenor
Sax / Aidan Thorne, Double Bass / Greg Evans, Drums. This unique Italian-Welsh
collaboration features the internationally regarded Milan-based pianist
Davide Logiri with original compositions and arrangements from their well
received recording albums, and including jazz standards
5.00 - 6.15pm BRECON JAZZ CLUB Presents: ‘ARTURO
SERRA QUARTET meets CELIA MUR’ Arturo Serra, Vibraphone
/ Juan Galiardo, Piano / Mick Coady, Bass / Xavi Hinojosa, Drums / Celia
Mur, Guest Vocalist. One of the best-established jazz ensembles on the Spanish
jazz scene joins the team at Brecon. The quartet led by the Getxo Festival
prize winner Arturo Serra, provides a brilliant musical partnership linking
Andalucia, Catalonia and Wales. Exciting vocal contributions from Celia
Mur span Gershwin, Flamenco Jazz, and Bobby Hutcherson inspired numbers. TICKETS HERE
7.30 - 8.45pm Porthcawl Jazz Festival assists in Presenting:
Cathy Jones’ Quintet - ‘Balança’Cathy Jones,
Vocals & Percussion / Kevin Figes, Flute & Saxophone / Tristram
Cox, Guitar / Thad Kelly, Electric Bass / Mark Whitlam, Drums
The ‘Balança’ quintet draw on both jazz and the authentic
sounds of Brazil. Assured playing ranges from the Bossa Novas and Sambas
of Jobim and João Gilberto, through to the music of contemporary
Brazilian jazz artists including Joyce and Hermeto Pascoal and jazz stars
